Charlotte Rise FC is thrilled to announce the ongoing renovation of the REA Farm School’s soccer field, a project that has been months in the making. With the invaluable assistance of Costner Care Landscaping, we are transforming a deteriorating field into a safe and beautiful playing space that will serve our community for years to come.
Identifying the Need for Renovation
The need for renovation became evident as the field’s grass deteriorated, raising concerns about player safety. Recognizing the importance of this space for our players and the broader community, Charlotte Rise Out Reach, Inc. initiated a series of meetings with school officials and local residents. These discussions were crucial in understanding the community’s needs and laying the groundwork for a successful renovation.
Collaborative Planning and Partnerships
In partnership with REA Farm’s administration and CMS, we were able to formulate a comprehensive plan to address the field’s issues. Costner Care Landscaping was brought on board to provide their expertise and ensure that the renovation was executed to the highest standards. Their team conducted thorough site measurements and testing, enabling them to craft a detailed plan of action.

Renovation Process
The renovation process was extensive, encompassing site preparation, weed control, soil amendment, irrigation sprinkler configuration, aeration, and seeding. Thanks to the meticulous work of Costner Care Landscaping, the field is now lush, green, and ready for play. Their dedication to this project exceeded all expectations, truly embodying the spirit of community collaboration.
A Successful Collaboration
This project’s success would not have been possible without the concerted efforts of everyone involved. Costner Care Landscaping has proven to be an invaluable partner, and we are pleased to announce that they will continue to consult on future projects with Charlotte Rise FC and Charlotte Rise Out Reach. As we move forward, our focus will be on maintaining and enhancing the field, including mowing, fertilization, and overseeding with rye grass this fall to ensure year-round playability.
